How about some tasty glasses from Venice?
Ottica Carraro make curiously shaped frames in bright, lively colours.
Here’s an International Herald Tribune article about Ottica Carraro from 2003. According to the article, the Classic collection is big and bright, the Light collection is a little bit smaller and the Rubber collection is the same stuff, but has a rubber finish that stop your glasses from doing that irritating downward-nose-slide.
“”We decided that it was time to provide glasses wearers with a dash of Venetian color and verve,” explains Danilo Carraro.”
The frames can be bought online direct from Ottica Carraro for about €70 to €90.

Wow, these are really cool. The purple ones even remind me of Carnevale masks; surely a nod to Venice?
I have these glasses and LOVE them. Bought 3 pairs. Unfortunatley, I broke the hinge. I’m trying to get in touch with them to obtain the hinge and screw…can you help with contacing them via e-mail????
Hi Stacia,
I have emailed you their address.
Eu comprei dois pares de óculos do Danilo Carraro há uns cinco anos, em Veneza. Como posso comprar outros pela Internet, alguém sabe?
