Labrabbit Optics grand opening

Chicago eyewear buddy, Coyote, is officially opening his new Labrabbit Optics location this Friday. I wish I could be there!

You’re invited to the Grand Opening of Labrabbit Optics!

Where: Labrabbit Optics 1104 N. Ashland Ave. Chicago, IL 60622
When: Friday, September 17, 6-10pm

Long a word-of-mouth favorite, we finally make our overground debut in a stunning new storefront space in the River West neighborhood. Our collection of over 500 vintage and contemporary frames will be on display, and celebrations are in order as we stake our claim in the eyewear scene.

This event also marks the Chicago debut of Drift Eyewear, a locally- designed and crafted collection of sustainable wood eyewear. Using carefully selected woods from fair-source suppliers and the highest quality Mazzucchelli acetate, the frames represent a stylish new direction in responsible craftsmanship. Chris Mantz is the designer and founder of Drift, and will be in attendance at the event. Preview the collection

In addition to its commercial function, the Labrabbit space also serves as an artistic platform, as our massive window space is transformed in the first of a continuing series of seasonal installations. We celebrate our Grand Opening with new work by Ellen Nielsen. Ellen is an interdisciplinary artist currently pursuing her MFA in Fiber and Material Studies at the School of the Art Institute. Her work can be seen here.
